The situation in Residential facilities for the dependent elderly and among non-healthcare professionals has not been studied much. This article reports on the problems encountered by caregivers and non-caregivers working in nursing homes in one of the areas most affected by the first epidemic wave in France. It is based on a survey using a mixed-methods investigation. It explores the variety of problems encountered by professionals, their potential effect in terms of psychological distress, the mechanisms of their regulation and the structural social factors that could be involved.
