| Samenvatting: | This text clarifies the meaning of the School in the thought of the philosopher Hannah Arendt. Four characteristics are highlighted : a philosophical characteristic (school, a place where the world is presented), an institutional characteristic (school, a cultural conservatory), an anthropological characteristic (school, a prepolitical space) and a socio-political characteristic (the school, a public institution). This reading of the Arendtian school makes it possible to sketch the portrait of the one whose task is to make the world known, and who is none other than the teacher. If Hannah Arendt’s thought is a stimulating thought, it does not escape criticism. This is the subject of the final section of this text. |
