| Streszczenie: | Reflecting on the functions of archetypes, the authors of this article proceed from the following assumptions: 1) Analyzing the functions of archetypes is a unique study of the mechanisms that organize the “chaos of the unconscious.” 2) Functions represent processes within a social system that have a positive impact on its existence, contributing to its integrity, adaptation, and order. The absence of such processes within the system leads to its deterioration and eventual decline. Individual elements of a social system may be functional in one dimension yet dysfunctional in another. 3) Archetypes are accessible to rational understanding through the figurative and symbolic manifestations of motifs and behavioral patterns that individuals adopt as part of something larger—such as a community, people, or nation. 4) Studying the functions of archetypes during the collective experience of war aims to reveal the unique “response” of a particular community to the “challenge” of surviving as a community. The manifestation of archetypes in Ukrainian society is multifaceted, often inconspicuous, and sometimes contradictory by its nature, shaped by Ukraine’s colonial past. |
