Özet:When listening to addicted patients, the clinic of addiction is adorned with signifiers borrowed from the discourse of love, leading us to consider the close links between love and drugs. In the field of psychosis, the structural affinity for toxic substances stems from its various compensatory functions in relation to reality; a choice of object that aims at putting the Other and his “jouissance” at a distance, a process identified by Lacan as one of the possible destinies of psychotic love. Through the clinical case of Mehdi, a drug-addicted patient and former heroin addict, we will examine the points of junction between Eros and heroin. The patient’s relationship with heroin has lasted over twenty years, with a single interruption during a romantic relationship, supporting the substitution of his partner for the drug-object.
