| Résumé: | International research on shared physical custody comes from multiple disciplines (psychology, social sciences, family law, economics, social policies, etc.) and approaches this practice from complementary angles (the well-being of children and parents, the legal procedure, the relationship to social norms, economic security, maintaining long-term bonds, sharing social benefits, etc.). This article offers a synthesis of the existing literature, which is required for a global vision of the advantages and limits of this custody arrangement, and for the identification of the public policy issues surrounding it. |
