Riassunto:This article looks into the articulation of various children’s experiences during their early years and into the rationales according to which their preferences, tastes and judgments—i.e. their social and moral dispositions—are built, especially during their nursery school years. In this regard, the article presents and uses an unusual survey method of online fun questionnaires for 5 to 6 years old children of the Elfe cohort (n = 4242). The analysis differentiates and articulates moral dispositions, relationships to schooling and school norms that children develop, highlighting configurations that vary primarily with gender and secondarily with their family’s social characteristics. In particular, it uncovers a form of distance to school standards that is more common among boys and upper classes and, conversely, a form of adherence to school standards among working-class girls.
