Description
Résumé:Based on a daily food habits survey conducted between 2020 and 2022 among 20 middle and upper class families, with at least one child in primary schools, this article questions the role of grandparents in children’s food education. The analysis shows a tension between parental educational values and the practices of grandparents, who use food as a means of pleasing their grandchildren. Yet, parents accepte these practices as long as they remain “reasonable”. This tolerance aims at limiting family conflicts as well as maintaining parents’ controly over their children’s education. However, grandparents can also serve as an educational resource for parents struggling to comply with nutritional injunctions.
