| Résumé: | In the current context, where psychologists are often inadequately trained and lack suitable tools, conducting culturally informed neuropsychological assessments proves complex. These assessments are subject to inherent limitations in terms of data validity and uncertainties regarding the patient’s cognitive functioning. Preliminary data from a recent survey also reveal that psychologists have a low level of confidence in the conclusions drawn from this type of assessment. Consequently, report writing and information transmission modalities must account for these constraints. To partially address these limitations, recommendations from the literature advise psychologists to provide more extensive information in their reports, particularly by providing additional contextual details related to the assessment. In this article, we propose an analytical framework aimed at providing essential contextual elements to enable an informed use of the report, especially in the case of follow-up evaluations conducted by another professional. This analytical framework includes key elements such as the psychologist’s level of training and familiarity with the patient’s culture, adjustments made during assessments (e.g., modifications to tests, involvement of an interpreter, etc.), and the level of credence given to the assessment’s conclusions. The framework can be appended to the report, or used as a reflective tool, to ensure better-informed practices tailored to the complexity of conducting intercultural neuropsychological assessments in France. |
