Resumo:Macaulay uses an array of genres to develop a systematic philosophy founded on human liberty and defend a republican political philosophy. Points in the system are articulated in particular genres consistent with the points themselves. Macaulay’s system has three central tenets: (a) the primacy of liberty and human freedom; (b) the promotion of public liberty as the measure of virtue; and (c) an education that enables youth to recognize human Liberty and enter civil society committed to ensuring that government preserves it.
