| Summary: | Preserving organizational resilience is a critical concern for decision-makers, particularly in times of crisis. This article delves into a comprehensive theoretical exploration of resilience management, with a specific focus on the intricate interplay of individual and organizational resilience in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) confronting crises. The primary goal is to shed light on the nuanced conceptualization of resilience characteristics at both the individual and organizational levels in the face of adversity. Specifically, we aim to identify key interactions facilitating the emergence of a rebound process during and after a crisis. To strengthen our theoretical foundation with empirical evidence, we conducted an in-depth case study of two resilient Moroccan SMEs, Zyne and M2M Group, which successfully navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing from a rich dataset comprising both primary and secondary sources, we discerned key themes and patterns elucidating the resilience and recovery processes of these organizations. Our findings contribute not only to the theoretical understanding of resilience but also offer pragmatic insights into the characteristics and strategies employed by resilient SMEs in times of crisis. By bridging the gap between theory and real-world application, our research provides valuable knowledge for decision-makers grappling with the preservation of organizational vitality in tumultuous environments. |
