Özet:The notion of extra-European modernity presents us with an opportunity to rethink the very idea of modernity by disidentifying it from those of Europe and “the Western world”. The non-superficial inclusion of extra-European literatures requires detaching modern historicity from any territorial and historical substantialism in order to shift to the viewpoint of singular cultures and poetics, which invest the elements of literary communication (forms, genres, mediums, intertexts, paratexts) in ways that are both always unique and characterized by the same modern metastructure in their relation to social and cultural value.
