The European Union has also pursued an active external policy in the field of biodiversity protection. The actions undertaken in 2023 and 2024 are in line with the international positions taken by the European Union, notably during the negotiations for the Kunming-Montreal Accord in December 2022, which constitutes the global framework for biodiversity. This article will outline the progress made in 2023 and 2024 in implementing the European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy to 2030, putting it into perspective with international biodiversity negotiations.Sur la période 2023-2024, l’Union européenne a poursuivi ses actions de mise en œuvre de la nouvelle Stratégie de l’Union européenne en faveur de la biodiversité à l’horizon 2030 à la fois par une approche globale grâce à l’adoption d’un plan de restauration de la nature mais aussi par une approche sectorielle en renforçant le droit existant. Par ailleurs, l’Union européenne a mené une politique extérieure active dans le domaine de la protection de la biodiversité. Les actions menées en 2023 et 2024 s’inscrivent dans la logique des positions internationales prises par l’Union européenne notamment lors des négociations de l’Accord de Kunming-Montréal, en décembre 2022, qui constitue le cadre mondial pour la biodiversité. Cette chronique s’attache ainsi à dépeindre à grands traits les avancées en 2023 et 2024 de la mise en œuvre de la Stratégie de l’Union européenne en faveur de la biodiversité à l’horizon 2030 en les mettant en perspective avec les négociations internationales relatives à la biodiversité.Cairn restricted access |
