| Riassunto: | Over the period 2023-2024, the European Union has continued to implement the new European Union Biodiversity Strategy 2030, both through a global approach with the adoption of a nature restoration plan, and through a sectoral approach by strengthening existing legislation. The European Union has also pursued an active external policy in the field of biodiversity protection. The actions undertaken in 2023 and 2024 are in line with the international positions taken by the European Union, notably during the negotiations for the Kunming-Montreal Accord in December 2022, which constitutes the global framework for biodiversity. This article will outline the progress made in 2023 and 2024 in implementing the European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy to 2030, putting it into perspective with international biodiversity negotiations. |
