| Résumé: | This article examines how accountability mechanisms of multilateral development banks (MDBs) can used to address complaints related to climate impacts. It focuses on two mechanisms: the Inspection Panel of the World Bank and the new Project Accountability Mechanism of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). While they provide a platform to voice concerns, their effectiveness is hampered by their lack of authority and ability to suspend projects. Therefore, the article proposes a holistic approach, including recognition of the right to a healthy environment, collaboration among different accountability mechanisms, and the establishment of a Climate Financing Oversight Committee for MDBs. |
