| Riassunto: | This article analyses the decarbonisation effort launched by the Biden administration and its Democratic allies. Although industrial policies have been implemented on a large scale, the administration still has three formidable challenges ahead: (1) to demonstrate that its investments will not lead to a mere addition of low-carbon energy resources on top of existing fossil fuel use; (2) to ensure that the protectionist nature of its strategy does not leave its foreign partners behind, but actually helps facilitate adoption of decarbonisation tools worldwide; (3) to find ways of increasing the US contribution to international climate finance in order to support developing countries. |
