The expressions « world order » and « global order » are often mentioned indistinguishably by authors who do not justify the choice of the qualifier. For some of them, their « realist » or, at the contrary, « world-wide » perception is so obvious that the explanation is implicit. In English, the choice between « world » and « global » raises an additional problem or, at least, brings about another debate, i.e. the distinction, in French, between « mondialisation ” and « globalisation ”, regarding the scope of the phenomenon and particularly its regulation. Indeed, to what extent do the end of bipolarity and the rise of globalization ( « mondialisation » or « globalisation » ) affect the Westphalian international order ? |
