| الملخص: | Bloch, Badiou, Žižek, Aristotle, Plato and Nietzsche were all alive to the plastic nature of earthly
truth. In this chapter, the contingent nature of truth and its metaphysical expression is traced in
order to detect the tendencies and latencies in time, memory and anticipation. It is argued here that
Bloch's concept of the Not Yet does not refer to the readiness of current conditions to embody and
realise the future, but that both past and current conditions themselves are not yet complete. The
"metaphysics of contingency" as well as the "dialectics of contingency" are developed here as
categories for understanding human history itself.
