Résumé:Cognitive disorders represent the most serious health problem of the 21st century, according to the WHO. In France, this concerns 15 million people directly or indirectly: Alzheimer’s disease and neurodevelopmental disorders are the most common. Faced with this health and social challenge, we report on the role played by a non-profit association (Aloïs), which took the initiative in 2004 to contribute to this public health problem by creating/testing healthcare pathways for these patients, in the city, complementary to those existing in hospital. It took 22 years for an observation emanating from the concrete experience in the field to change public policies.
