The increase in the number of Mid-caps over the past sixteen years is proof of this. However, European institutions have yet to take account of the production sector as a whole. The powerful legislative measures introduced under the ʺGreen Dealʺ, if they fail to divert the Mid-caps category, risk undermining their competitiveness and, through a crowding-out effect, putting them on the sidelines of financing and growth markets. The imperative of proportionality must apply to sustainability standards.Depuis la création de la catégorie ETI en 2008, la France calibre davantage la politique économique à son tissu d’entreprises dans ses différentes composantes (TPE, PME, ETI, GE). La progression du nombre d’ETI depuis seize ans en atteste. La prise en compte de l’entièreté du tissu productif n’a pas encore pénétré les institutions européennes. Le puissant flux normatif européen lié au "Green Deal", faute de détourer la catégorie ETI ou mid-caps, risque de dégrader leur compétitivité et par effet d’éviction de les mettre sur le bord du chemin de financements et de marchés porteurs. L’impératif de proportionnalité doit s’imposer aux normes de durabilité.Cairn restricted access
