Supported by empirical evidence from case studies of Chinese entrepreneurs in France, the essay elucidates the conditions under which brokers engage with outsiders. Essay 2 shifts focus to brokering outcomes, emphasizing the importance of expectancy and value in shaping local insiders’ cooperation. Through interviews with Chinese entrepreneurs and additional data, the study unveils the intricate dynamics of cooperation in cross-cultural contexts. Lastly, Essay 3 conducts a systematic review of social networks’ impact on internationalization, highlighting their role in firms’ internationalization.
