| Résumé: | This article presents the recent German law that reforms the code of civil procedure and aims at increasing the attractiveness of Germany as a place for commercial dispute resolution. The reform is embedded in the context of internationalisation and specialisation of national civil justice systems and private law more generally. The article offers a comparison between these new German Commercial Courts and the International Chamber of Paris. It identifies the renewed procedural framework as the reform’s main innovation rather than the availability of English as a language of proceedings. Moreover, it highlights the complementary relationship between the national judiciary and arbitration as exemplified by the jurisprudence of the International Chamber at the Paris Court of Appeal. |
