Résumé:Using an examination of the Jewish press in Egypt, in particular the newspaper Israël, the author analyzes the reactions of the Jews of Egypt to Hitler’s rise to power. These reactions constituted a major mobilization, the largest of its kind in the Arab world. The mobilization benefited from a favorable environment for a long time up until Egypt’s economic interests, cotton in particular, came into opposition with it.
