| Izvleček: | Polish films and images of the HolocaustSince 2000, following extensive debates on the “Jedwabne pogrom”, a proliferation of initiatives has demonstrated the will to dialogue with the Polish Jewish past in Poland and to confront the shadows of national history. As evidenced by the recent work of Alina Skibinski, films of the Polish Holocaust reflect the duty to remember the reality. The film industry and national television remain in the background, compared to the work of historians as the works of Polish contemporary artists highlights the destruction of the Jews and Polish attitudes against the Holocaust when it comes to talking to the general public. |
