要約:The Holocaust and film genresThe Holocaust has shaken the criteria of the representation of film on history. This article attempts to redefine these criteria by showing the need to distinguish among genres, so that the public does not confuse the archives, documentaries, filmed testimonies, historical reenactments, and fiction. But the current trend is the blurring of boundaries through the creation of intermediate genres, such as docudramas and docu-fictions, that throw the spirit of the spectators into confusion. The conventions that govern any direction, including the most authentic documents - alternating between black white and color, systematization of flashbacks, subjective points of view - thus encourage the rehabilitation of fiction itself, which is too often criticized. These conventions are not the function of informing, but by the means of art - a symbol, metaphor, metonymy - they demonstrate the state of opinion at some point, causing empathy among new generations and create the shock of a metaphysical discovery, that of evil in action. The best fiction films have become aware of the challenges and limitations of representation and make these same constraints “the extent and means of their own power”.
