Shrnutí:This essay presents a number of scholars and researchers, who have cautiously addressed, each in his own way, the idea that the research of anti-Semitism and the efforts to define it, especially in the aftermath of the Holocaust, constitute a major problem: they contradict Zionist aspirations, Jewish traditions and values; are in contrast to Jewish studies and undermine the academic status of such studies; and threaten the personal and national selfrespect of Jews. Having analyzed this idea, the essay questions the role played by the research of anti-Semitism in Jewish public life.
