| Résumé: | The article focuses on Polish, Yiddish and German letters written on different occasions to the Chairman Mordechay Chaim Rumkowski by the Lodz Ghetto inhabitants. The texts are now stored at the State Archive in Lodz. Most of them have a purely sycophantic character. This article aims to find out what kind of a persona emerges from this epistolary source – how was Rumkowski perceived by his contemporaries in the ghetto and who were the authors of the texts in question. |
