| Shrnutí: | This article provides an overview of the central organisation of the German Jews from 1933 to 1945. The Reichsvertretung of German Jews, an umbrella organisation, which existed from 1933 to 1938, established themselves as the mouthpiece and coordination organ of the Jewish communities, associations and parties. Its successor after 1939, the Reichsvereinigung of Jews in Germany, was a strongly centralized organisation and supervised by the Reich’s Main Security Office directly. The Reichsvereinigung was obligated to support efforts of emigration until policies changed and it was involved in the preparations of the deportations until its dissolution in June 1943. Regional bureau were both subordinated to the central office of the Reichsvereinigung in Berlin as well as to the local Gestapo offices. Following dissolution in 1943, the Rest-Reichsvereinigung, the successor and final embodiment of the organisation was responsible for the last Jews living in mixed marriages who were deffered from deportation, albeit preliminarily. This last organisation was dissolved by the Allies in September 1945. |
