الملخص:Yair Auron, an Israeli historian and professor at the Tel-Aviv University, shows how Eretz Israel's Yishuv (the organized Jewish community in Ottoman and mandatory Palestine) followed the events in Armenia. The terror to be subjected to the same fate gripped the contemporaries, all the more since the Ottoman Empire, which was not well inclined towards the Zionist movement, had driven a large number of Zionist into exile. It is on this background of anguish – combined with a certain indifference – that a strong solidarity between Jews and Armenians quickly emerged, as shown in the story of Aaron Aaronsohn and the “Nili” spy network.
