| Tóm tắt: | This article analyzes the French policy of the recognition of the colonial crimes. Its reflection is based on the Stora’s report and the many presidential statements made on the subject. The italicized texts are excerpts from these. In this paper, Noureddine Amara offers a critical reading of historian Emmanuel Macron’s policy of “small steps” following Stora’s report on memorial issues relating to colonization and the Algerian War, which was submitted to the President of the French Republic on January 20, 2021. Through a textual analysis of French recognition of some of the colonial crimes committed in Algeria, he underlines how the imperative of reconciliation prevents any possibility of justice for these crimes. |
