Résumé:This article proposes a study of albinism seen through the lens of comics. The study takes into account the emergent field of disabilities studies in Europe, aiming to apply the approaches used to two comics coming from Sub-Saharan Africa, Gabon and Cameroon. It analyzes the relationship existing between disability (handicap), witchcraft and modern medicine, highlighting the tenuous link between acceptance and rejection in the various communities that the illustrators presents. The works discussed aim to re-inscribe the given disability in everyday life and give positive visibility to people with albinism in society.
