Time passing, with the signing of the entente cordiale agreement in 1904 and furthermore during the two world wars, the Marseillaise embodies patriotism and freedom. It is, under difficult circumstances faced in common, the display of Anglo-Saxon countries’ solidarity with the French people.Finally, our feelings-dominated time makes a large use of its rousing rhythm and dazzling melody which express as well enthusiasm during sporting events as pain and resilience after tragedies bound to terrorism, mass accidents or armed conflicts.Cairn restricted access
