Yhteenveto:Just after the Second World War the French Engineer Corps has been reconstructed following the US model. Corps and Combat engineers are both tailored to support a modern motorized and mechanized army.Yet, the sappers sent to Indochina from 1945 discover a particularly difficult physical environment and the Viet-Minh’s combat methods are baffling them. Confronted, furthermore, with the shortage of staff, the Far East Expeditionary Corps’ engineer has to adapt itself : modify its recruitment and set-up, but also adapt its units in order to fulfill the missions entrusted by the command.
