Description
Résumé:Adapted from the eponymous book by Cornelius Ryan --a true study based on the testimony of many Allied and German protagonists of June 6, 1944--the completion of the war film The Longest Day, the most important film in black and white at the time, was the achievement of the American producer Darryl Zanuck. To complete his film, Zanuck sought and received valuable assistance in equipment and men from the French Army. Throughout the process--extending from 1960 to 1962--the action of the military led by General Koenig, amid the Algerian conflict, was conducted with a view of giving an honorable representation of the French participation in the landing.
