Chartalism emerges as a doctrine that fuels this working fiction. The paper studies elements of monetary plurality at work in those systems of unity. It also presents the constitutive elements of systems of monetary plurality and discusses two ideal-typical systems of plurality: free banking and monetary federalism. |
