Descripció
Sumari:Based on two clinical cases – a young triathlete overwhelmed by anxiety attacks and hypochondria, and a young woman suffering from depression and anorexia – the author explores the issue of distress. These patients present clinical pictures that suggest a lack of maternal holding in the past and resort to self-calming techniques described by Gérard Szwec, which attempt to minimally link the life and death drives, but at a behavioural level. For Szwec, healing occurs when sadomasochistic fantasies can finally be formed, reflecting an intertwining of drives and a sexualisation of the death drive. The role of the object is then examined through the concepts of Nebenmensch and basic transference (various authors). The author then revisits Winnicott’s concept of trauma and emphasises the importance of sexuality and the death drive in patients suffering from early trauma, which seems to fall within the primary order of needs.
