| Sumari: | By drawing on the job crafting framework, this article explores the ways in which individuals in a context of dirty work strive to create meaning at work by transforming the story of what they do and who they are. Our results highlight the particularly active job crafting processes through which cleaners strive both to cultivate meaning and positive identity at work and to extricate themselves from the stigmas to which they are exposed. |
