Description
Résumé:The ecological transformation of the digital sector is currently hindered by the difficulty in identifying which organizational solutions to implement. Through a qualitative analysis of the ecological imaginaries underlying the environmental responses of different types of organizations within the digital sector, we propose an alternative approach to the quantitative environmental impact assessment. Our findings reveal four main ecological imaginaries: resource efficiency, technosolutionism, digital sobriety, and unlimited digital expansion. We show that overlaps between these sometimes incompatible imaginaries may help explain the delays in organizational changes in response to ecological challenges.
