| Gaia: | This article offers a narrative synthesis on public celebrations based on studies of the governance of practices. These events have been little studied by management science even though they have been central to the management policies of French urban towns since the 1980s. This synthesis reveals five models for including the public in the celebrations, depending on the town policies. It also highlights their multiscalarity and the limits of this approach. Finally, various managerial and societal implications are identified and avenues of research proposed. |
