| Résumé: | The objective of this research is to identify the factors that promote successful fiscal transition in West Africa. Panel data from 13 ECOWAS countries were used over the period 1990-2016. We first estimated a non-linear probability probit model before using a dynamic panel estimated by the method of generalized moments in system. The results reveal that the main determinants of the fiscal transition are variables that capture the economic structure of countries, the benefit from natural resources, the control of corruption, the quality of public service and political stability. Inflation negatively affects the fiscal transition. |
