Description
Résumé:This article, based on research with homeless migrant women, reconsiders the definition of homelessness and the translation of the term “home” in a gender-sensitive approach. Analysis of the women’s experiences shows that access to accommodation or housing is not enough to make them feel sheltered. If access to a private space is fundamental, they must not be enclosed or confined to it. This shows how important it is for women that their homes allow them to move between private and public spaces, so that they feel sheltered and safe.
