Yhteenveto:Since the 1980s, the use of video for public security purposes has continued to expand around the world, and in France, following a number of trends and dynamics: through a territorial spread, from metropolitan areas to rural areas; in bursts, thanks to major events, in particular the Olympic Games; through technological opportunities and new forms of capture (facial recognition, so-called algorithmic video, drones); through social dynamics, when it is taken over by citizens (connected doorbells, lateral surveillance). In France, while the legal framework has been developed in parallel, few real evaluations have been carried out.
