Résumé:Seventy years ago, in 1954, the first C-130 Hercules transport aircraft took off for its maiden flight. This exceptional longevity is proof of the sound original design, its flexibility for modernisation and the versatility of successive versions. The aircraft has been in service with the French Air and Space Force since 1987, and its ruggedness means it is likely to continue flying beyond 2050.
