Summary:The Algerian public administration has evolved through small transformations. It was transformed with the political choices made at independence and then with the socialist model of economic and social development. This conception of the state has led to excessive centralisation and formalism, preventing any innovation in public administration. Also, in this system, change seems to be difficult. We propose a study of attempts to modernize the Algerian public administration by questioning the concept of electronic administration. First, we present this concept through some theoretical approaches. Secondly, we take stock of the modernization of the Algerian administration. Finally, we present the challenges and perspectives of this modernization in the digital age.
