| 总结: | Should not the concept of sovereignty be set aside as obsolete in a globalised world where power is increasingly fragmented, and where environmental crises are unsettling the very territoriality of nation states? Yet calls for sovereignty in its various declinations (industry, energy, food, health, digital, etc.) seem to be growing louder as these various crises unfold. How could one explain this contemporary inflation of the vocabulary of sovereignty? And above all, why does sovereignty arguably remain an incomparable and necessary concept to think and act not only nationally but both locally and globally. These are the questions discussed in this interview with Céline Spector and Alessandro Stanziani, looking for answers at the crossroads of political philosophy and economic and environmental history. In doing so, a common horizon emerges—both authors insisting, on the one hand, on the plurality of sovereignty’s historical sources and the roads not taken which retrospectively draw alternative paths to the neoliberal and sovereignist becomings of the European Union, and on the other hand on the defence of a democratic understanding of sovereignty associated with a strengthening of representative institutions and public services. |
