| Riassunto: | Contemporary archaeology and above all archaeology of Second World War is still a young matter in the case of ex-Poitou-Charentes region in spite of the many remains of the Atlantic Wall. Two archaeological sites represent the beginning of this archaeology in a preventive context in Charente-Maritime : Vaux-sur-Mer and Châtelaillon-Plage. Those two sites, exacavated five years apart between 2014 and 2019, have revealed structures linked to the Royan pocket and the La Rochelle pocket (trenches, shelters, foxholes, artillery position…), which needed an adaptation of the research aims to enable the study of these contemporary remains. |
