| Shrnutí: | In the Aube department, in Saint-Lyé municipality, archaeologists have found in 2018 14 pits likely modern next to late La Tène and roman occupations. This funerary space, which should extend well beyond the limits of the excavated site, include at least 17 equines of all sex, age and size. Two ballistic traces on equines’s bones suggest that these burials are linked with a military conflict. These equines’s death and burial seem to have taken place in a short amount of time. Skeletons show lesions, probably caused by soldier’s use of these equines. Nevertheless, there is non-negligible burial care. During the First World War, german advance never reached Saint-Lyé. During World War II, Troyes and its suburbs are german occupied from June 1940 until August 1944. Despite uncertainties remains about origin and dating of this animal deposits, various studies carried out in the course of this operation invite us to see incidents occured during Second World War, whether it is in relation with a isolated conflict or with a german requisition. |
