Riassunto:Since the early 1990s, archeology has recorded remains of contemporary wars in Île-de-France. The first syntheses, produced in the 2010s, concerned the entrenched camp of Paris, the capital’s defence system during the First World War. Pedestrian and LiDAR surveys in the forest as well as developer-funded archeology operations have indeed documented hundreds of field fortification works. In 2018, an initial diachronic and multiscalar approach to contemporary conflicts was undertaken. The evolution of the ways in which Paris was defended and attacked from 1870 to 1940 was studied, from the scale of the archaeological structure to that of its integration into a regional system. Since 2020, a collective research program has brought together archaeologists from various institutions working in the Île-de-France and Centre-Val de Loire regions. The main aims of this programme are to draw up a standardised inventory of the remains of conflicts, to develop the integration of historical sources into a GIS and to produce a list of archives that can be used to compare archaeological data. The inventory of martial remains has made it possible to identify several themes that can be addressed by archaeology in the regions concerned.
