Today, some specialized journalists are seeking to renew their editorial practices by setting themselves apart from the influencers. They are focusing on the creation of added value and adopting a critical approach rather than a simple testing. This paradigm shift reveals an identity crisis for videogame journalists. Based on interviews and articles analysis, this study explores the motivations of this generation of journalists, showing how they are redefining their editorial role through multiple filiations stemming from art criticism. The article seeks to shed light on specific characteristics of the videogame testing codes, while comparing them with those of traditional journalism, thus outlining an editorial model a constantly reinventing editorial model. |
