| Sammanfattning: | The companies put great emphasis on product and service innovation as a way to gain competitiveness. However, innovation in management may also be a good vehicle to make organizations more sustainable and effective at the same time. In this research we propose a business model that attempts to show what characteristics must an organization have in order to take advantage of the network and knowledge society. The sources that have inspired us to develop this model are based, on the one hand, on an extensive literature review and, on the other hand, on a field research study of 20 cases of companies that, we believe, are showing some of the features of the open enterprises. In addition to reviewing the changes in society that must shape the face of the open enterprise, in this article we pay special attention to two types of elements that shape this type of organization. On the one hand, we identify how a distributed network approach may be the most consistent way of organizing economic activity today and review what features enable this setting. On the other hand, we establish the person at the core of the open enterprise, establishing what exactly does this statement mean with the aim of not falling into empty speeches. Finally we propose a series of conclusions that attempts to summarize accurately the nature of the open enterprise. |
