Résumé:This essay aims at explaining the question of water management in Ivory Coast, a country situated within the tropical zone of West Africa. Thanks to adequate Govemment policies, water for animal and human consumption as well as for irrigation is available and provided through the country. However, a long term water policy is needed to protect the environment against pollution and also for a more rationalized management of water resources.Emphasis is made on the necessity of a coordination with neighbouring countries on water policies as Ivory Coast is partly dependent on water originating in these countries.
